The three current big megatrends in the web/tech sector are mobile, social, and real-time.
I like to think of this as the golden triangle. You can build interesting businesses in each of these three sectors. The iPhone is the poster child of mobile. Facebook is the poster child of social. Twitter is the poster child of real-time.
But it is what happens inside the golden triangle that is really interesting to me. What if you build a service that is mobile, social, and real-time?

WOW. handwritten letters are completely underrated. people should do this more often…
This is one conclusion of a study from UC Davis and the Forum for Women Entrepreneurs and Executives in Palo Alto, which looked at 400 of the largest publicly held companies in California to see how many of them had women board members or executives.
They didn’t find many — women hold only 10.6% of the board seats and executive jobs at these companies, and only 15 of the companies have women CEOs. At 30% of the companies, both board members and executives were all male.
One of the counties that ranked the lowest for women-led companies, by the way, was Santa Clara, which is in the heart of Silicon Valley.
Still, companies that do have women in leadership positions also had better environmental records.
The researchers figured this out by seeing which of their 400 companies had made Newsweek’s 2009 Green Rankings, which ranks companies based on how environmentally friendly their policies are, and then seeing how many women board members or executives each of those 62 companies had.
Previous studies have suggested that companies with women managers and directors have better financial performance, but this appears to be one more way that companies without women at the top miss out.
"need to change this male/female ratio…
